Certification and accreditation

ESMO’s mission to ensure the highest standards of qualification of medical oncologists within the multidisciplinary team is supported through evaluation programs which certify the level of up-to-date knowledge, skills, and general competence necessary to be recognized as a practitioner of medical oncology.  

These standards of patient-centered cancer treatment and care are strengthened by re-certification through continuous education and training in accredited oncology programs.

ESMO also strives to recognize excellence with awards for achievement in the medical oncology field.
