The 33rd ESMO Congress will take place at the
Stockholm International Fairs in Älvsjö, (Mässvägen 1, SE-12580
Stockholm-Älvsjö), located a short train journey from Stockholm Central
Station.

|
The official language of the Congress is
English. Translation to other languages will not be available.

Publications
|
Articles relating to the Educational and Challenge Your
Expert sessions will be published in the Educational Book as a supplement of
the official ESMO scientific journal, Annals of Oncology. Invited and accepted abstracts will be published in the
Abstract Book, also a supplement of Annals of Oncology.
|
Abstract submission
|
Abstract submission will be available online from January
2008. Abstracts accepted for presentation will be scheduled in the Poster
sessions, Poster Discussion sessions and Proffered Paper sessions. The best
poster in each category will be awarded.
|
Late-breaking abstracts
|
Late-breaking abstracts may be submitted for studies with
new research findings for which noabstracts preliminary data are available at
the time of the abstract submission deadline. The work must not have been
previously published in any publication in peer review setting or presented
at a meeting of any other scientific organization prior to the 33rd ESMO
Congress.

Travel grants
|
Travel grants are available for oncologists under the age
of 40 and, where requested, will be awarded by the Stockholm 2008 Scientific
Committee on a competitive to the best-scored abstracts submitted to the 33rd
ESMO Congress.
|
CME accreditation
|
The program of this event will be:
- Accredited with ESMO-MORA category 1 points;
- Submitted for CME accreditation to the ACOE
(Accreditation Council for Oncology in Europe).
ACOE accreditation has been endorsed by the Accreditation Council for
Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), an institution of the European Union
of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
These credits are also recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA)
as Physician's Recognition Award (AMA PRA Category 1 credits);
- The Conference will also be submitted for Italian CME
accreditation (crediti ECM).

Transportation
|
Public transportation for travel between the congress
center and the official hotels booked through the official agency is offered
to the registered participants.
|
Official carrier
|

Passport / visa
|
Valid passport entitles EU and North American citizens
to enter Sweden. Citizens of other countries should check with a Swedish
diplomatic representative in their home country.

Insurance
|
The organizers bear no responsibility for untoward events
in connection with, before, during and after the Congress. Participants are
strongly advised to take out their own personal and travel insurance
coverage.

ESMO Examination
|
|
Every year ESMO offers an examination which is open to
ESMO Full and Junior Members only. The certificate allows Members to
participate in the ESMO Medical Oncologist's Recertification Approval
(ESMO-MORA). During the Congress, the examination session will take place
from 17:30 to 19:30 on Saturday, 13 September 2008.
