ESMO Symposium on Sarcoma and GIST

Milan, Italy

13-14 May 2008

Paolo Casali
ESMO  Local Chair

Due to the enthusiastic response by participants of the first edition in 2006, ESMO is proud to announce the second ESMO Symposium on Sarcoma and GIST, which will take place 13-14 May 2008 in Milan, Italy.

More than 200 specialists are expected to gather to discuss selected items of crucial relevance for Sarcoma and GIST treatment; subjects which are felt to require a special multidisciplinary focus by molecular biologists, pathologists and clinicians.

The ESMO Symposium on Sarcoma and GIST will provide a comprehensive overview of current medical therapy of soft tissue sarcomas and GIST, with a focus on its molecular and pathological bases. With this aim, sessions will be divided according to the gross histological partitioning of soft tissue sarcomas, and, within this framework, lectures on molecular biology and those on medical therapy will be grouped together. The goal is to give a perspective both on the state-of-the-art in medical treatment and the most recent advances in molecular biology, inasmuch as these are relevant to current therapies and their expected developments.
