Official language

The official language of the Conference is English.  Conference sessions will not be translated. 
  

Participants

1,000 participants representing multidisciplinary oncology and related specialties are expected to join this program.
  

Abstract submission

Abstract submission will be available online from January 2008. Abstracts accepted for presentation will be scheduled in the poster sessions and poster discussion sessions. The abstract submitters of the best six papers will receive free ESMO membership for 2009 and free registration to the Vienna 2009 Congress.

Publications

Articles relating to the Keynote lecture, the Symposia lectures,  Meet the Professor sessions and all accepted abstracts will be published in the ESMO Conference Lugano 2008 Educational and Abstract Book as a supplement of the official ESMO journal, Annals of Oncology.

Accommodation

Accommodation in Lugano is available in all hotel categories.

Transportation

Thanks to the City of Lugano, all registered ECLU participants will be able to use Lugano public transportation free of charge during the period of the Conference.
Shuttle buses will be organized for official hotels situated outside the city which have been booked through Amiconi Consulting.

Amiconi Consulting offers the possibility to organize transfers from and to the local airport of Lugano (10 km) and the international airports of Milan, Italy (70 km).

Passport / visa

A valid identity card is sufficient for entry into Switzerland for citizens of EU member countries. Nationals of non-EU member countries are advised to consult the nearest Swiss Consulate for specific details.

Insurance

Participants are strongly advised to take out their own personal and travel insurance coverage.
The organizers bear no responsibility for untoward events in connection with, before, during and after the Conference.

Travel grants

Travel grants are available for oncologists under the age of 40 and will be awarded by the ECLU Working Group on the merits of abstracts submitted to the ESMO Conference Lugano 2008.

CME Accreditation

The program of this event will be:
- Accredited with 18 European CME credits by ACOE (Accreditation Council for Oncology in Europe.
ACOE accreditation has been endorsed by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS).
These credits are also recognized by the American Medical Association (AMA) as Physician's Recognition Award (AMA PRA Category 1 credits).

The Conference will also be submitted for ESMO-MORA points and Italian CME accreditation (crediti ECM).

Press information

Free Media Registration is granted to all bona fide media representatives.
A Press Center will be open to journalists registered for the conference equipped with resources and technical facilities. Journalists will also have the possibility to schedule interviews.
