- Facilitating the work of the Society
- Applying and executing the decisions of the Board of Directors and the General Assembly
- Designating official Society representatives
- Appointing the Executive Director
- Appointing the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Oncology
- Overseeing committee activities and approving committee Chairs and committee members
Structure
- Five (5) to nine (9) members
- President
- President-Elect

- National Representatives Committee Chair
- Educational Committee Chair
- Multidisciplinary Oncology Committee Chair
- Executive Director (non-voting)
- President serves as Chair of the Executive Committee
- President-Elect and Treasurer elected by all ESMO members eligible to vote
- President-Elect holding office for one (1), 2-year term, followed by one (1), 2-year term as President, and one (1), 2-year term as immediate Past President
- President-Elect and immediate Past President serving as Vice-Presidents
- Treasurer elected for a term of three (3) years, with possible re-election once
- Executive Director nominated for a term of three (3) years, with possible renewal
