Executive Committee

The Executive Committee is the executive organ of ESMO.

Dr. David J. Kerr

Activities and responsibilities

  • Facilitating the work of the Society
  • Applying and executing the decisions of the Board of Directors and the General Assembly
  • Designating official Society representatives
  • Appointing the Executive Director
  • Appointing the Editor-in-Chief of Annals of Oncology
  • Overseeing committee activities and approving committee Chairs and committee members

Structure

  • Five (5) to nine (9) members
    • President
    • President-Elect
    • Past President
    • Treasurer
    • National Representatives Committee Chair
    • Educational Committee Chair
    • Multidisciplinary Oncology Committee Chair
    • Executive Director (non-voting)
  • President serves as Chair of the Executive Committee
  • President-Elect and Treasurer elected by all ESMO members eligible to vote
  • President-Elect holding office for one (1), 2-year term, followed by one (1), 2-year term as President, and one (1), 2-year term as immediate Past President
  • President-Elect and immediate Past President serving as Vice-Presidents
  • Treasurer elected for a term of three (3) years, with possible re-election once
  • Executive Director nominated for a term of three (3) years, with possible renewal
