Davide Melisi, MD, PhD, is currently Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology at the Department of Medicine, University of Verona, Italy.

Prof. Melisi obtained his MD Degree (Summa cum Laude) and the Specialty Degree in Medical Oncology (Summa cum Laude) at the University of Naples “Federico II”, Italy, where he also obtained his PhD degree, in the International Doctorate Programme in Molecular Oncology and Endocrinology.

From 2001 to 2005 he was a Resident Fellow in Internal Medicine/Medical Oncology, Division of Medical Oncology, University of Naples “Federico II” Medical School, Italy. From 2005-2009 he did his Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Department of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology, MD Anderson Cancer Center – University of Texas, Houston, TX, USA. From 2009 to 2011 he was a Clinical and Experimental Tenure Lecturer, at the National Cancer Institute – Fondazione G. Pascale, Naples, Italy.

Prof. Melisi has received several awards, including the SASS Foundation for Medical Research Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, Roslyn, NY, USA, the American-Italian Cancer Foundation Postdoctoral Research Fellowship, NY, USA, and served as a Fellow at the Methods in Clinical Cancer Research AACR/ASCO Workshop, Vail, CO, USA.

Prof Melisi’s research activity is in the mechanisms of resistance to chemotherapeutic and antiangiogenic drugs as targets for pancreatic cancer therapy.
