Dr Karima Oualla is an Assistant Professor of Medical Oncology at the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy of Fes, Morocco. She completed her medical studies and training at the same university and practiced as medical oncologist in the department of Medical Oncology at Hassan II University Hospital of Fez. She also got an academic degree in Epidemiology and Clinical Research from the same university before joining Institut Jules Bordet in Brussels, Belgium where she worked in 2012-2013 as assistant doctor in Medical Oncology. She holds a certificate of specialisation in Medical Oncology from Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and also successfully completed 3 years of «Postgraduate Course Medical Oncology, National Belgian Program » for Inter-University Faculty under the direction of the European Organization for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC).

She was designated by the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) for a fellowship in Onco-Urology department at “Istituto Nazionale dei Tumori” Milano, Italy and passed successfully the ESMO examination in 2014.  

In 2015, she was admitted into the Cancer Prevention and Control Research Training programme funded by the NIH Fogarty and the Moffitt cancer center in the United States of America and was enrolled in the department of public health in the University of South Florida (USF) Tampa, between 2015-2016. She graduated in “Concepts and Tools of Epidemiology” from the same university. In September 2016 she was designated by ESMO for the transitional research visit in Comprehensive Cancer Center in Vienna, Austria. Furthermore, she was selected by ESMO for a fellowship in palliative care in Leon Bérard Cancer Center in Lyon, France in 2019.

She achieved many other international trainings and was the author of several manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals. From 2018 to date, she has been enrolled in the Master Programme Advanced Oncology at the University of Ulm in Germany.

She is member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), the European School of Oncology (ESO), and the Moroccan Society of Cancerology (SMC).
