EU Clinical Trials Regulation
Aiming to facilitate clinical cancer research in Europe and reduce some of the burdens that have proven so costly in the past, the Clinical Trials Regulation (CTR) was adopted by the three EU institutions – the Council of the EU, the European Parliament, and the European Commission – in 2014. The new Regulation will be applied across the 28 EU Member States in 2016.
It is essential that this important Regulation is evenly implemented across all European countries. With European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC) and the European Association of Cancer Research (EACR), ESMO has formed a European Clinical Cancer Research Forum.
Together with EU cooperative research groups we will monitor the implementation of the CTR and provide constructive input and feedback to the relevant bodies responsible for its implementation.
