Testimonials

"I joined ESMO one year ago and I am a fully satisfied member: the membership fee is practically nothing considering the benefits we get: for instance Annals of Oncology, the new OncologyPRO portal and all the other services...
I am very satisfied with OncologyPro, especially with the email alerts, which allow to stay up-to-date in one click!
Another interesting and very useful opportunity offered by ESMO is the possibility to obtain research fellowships, in particular to visit translational research units"

"I decided to join AIOM and ESMO in view of my professional career, because it gives me the possibility to network with other medical oncologists, to share and to grow, both at national and international level.
I am very much interested in internal medicine: I decided to join ESMO because I think it will offer the possibility to get a complete picture of both pharmacopoeia and scientific research. This will allow me to understand what the current 'toolkit' for clinical practice is and also to learn the best practices from most important oncology institutes in Europe. In the oncology field, research and clinic can only work together!"

"In 2005, I was awarded an ESMO fellowship which offered me the possibility to spend a few years in Spain with José Baselga at the Vall d'Hebron institute in Barcelona,. Back from Spain, I immediately got a job opportunity! The most important benefit I obtained from joining ESMO is without doubt the chance of an experience abroad in a top cancer institute, improve my skills in tumour and patient management – and then to be able to get back to Italy, my home country, and put in practice what I learned!"

"I joined AIOM one year ago, - didn't want to miss the ESMO chance! A shame I didn't do it last year already! I strongly recommend it!
ESMO is one of the most important oncology societies in Europe, and thus gives the possibility to always be up to date.
I would love to spend some time abroad with an ESMO fellowship. I am interested in both cancer research and clinical practice which - I think – are complementary and can be experienced together, if you are well prepared.
Among tools offered by ESMO, the Clinical Practice Guidelines are certainly the ones I use most, also as a reference learning tool during the specialization period."

"ESMO is so important, especially for young oncologists... An essential requirement in your CV, especially in terms of educational and career opportunities.
I would love to get the opportunity to go abroad for a period, to be able to complete a few projects that I have started in my current hospital but that I cannot continue.
I don't know if my young colleagues are all already ESMO members, but my tutor recommended membership and since he is a fantastic oncologist and a great professional, I couldn't miss the opportunity! I would recommend ESMO to my colleagues!"

"I became a member of both societies last year, when AIOM and ESMO launched the reciprocal membership offer. It was really welcome! As a member you receive the scientific journal Annals of Oncology which publishes high-level papers. You can stay updated through the electronic newsletter, which I find very useful: with short summaries you get an idea of what is important, and you can then go deeper into what you are most interested in.
The Translational Research Unit visits represent a great opportunity for young oncologists, wanting to get a deeper knowledge in new areas of research.
Join ESMO! it's a great chance to grow and improve, all together!"
