Medical Doctors €175

All medical doctors working in the oncology field or with an interest in oncology. Fee includes a print and online subscription to Annals of Oncology.

Scientists €50

All scientists working in the oncology field or with an interest in oncology. Fee includes a print and online subscription to Annals of Oncology.  

Pharmacists €50

Pharmacists with an interest in oncology. Fee includes a print and online subscription to Annals of Oncology.  

Statisticians and Data Specialists €50

Data specialists and statisticians working in the oncology field. Fee includes a print and online subscription to Annals of Oncology.  

Nurses €25

All qualified nurses working in the oncology field. Fee includes an online only subscription to Annals of Oncology.

Patient Advocates €25

Advocates working for a recognised Patient Advocacy Groups are eligible for membership – must provide their updated CV in English and a letter from the Patient Advocacy Group they represent confirming their involvement. Fee includes an online only subscription to Annals of Oncology.

Other Healthcare Professionals

If you are a qualified healthcare professional with an interest in oncology, but do not fall in to one of the above groups, you are eligible for membership. However, when applying for membership you will need to submit your CV in English in order for the Membership Committee to review your application.

Undergraduate Students – FREE

Medical and science undergraduate students interested in oncology are welcome to join the society. Membership is free and provides online access only to ESMO benefits. Students do not have the right to vote.

Special rates

Under 40 in training €25

Medical doctors, basic scientists and other healthcare professionals in training e.g. specialising / sub-specialising in medical oncology or other medical specialisation, registered in a PhD programme, undertaking a residency or fellowship and who are under the age of 40 will be eligible for the in training discounted membership fee. Membership includes online and print subscription to Annals of Oncology.

Retired members €50

Emeritus membership is open to medical professionals who have now retired but are interested in keeping up to date with developments in the medical oncology field. Requests for the Emeritus membership discount must be submitted in writing to the membership services team.

Developing Countries discounted fee €25 or €50

We are pleased to offer professionals who are working in low or lower-middle income countries a reduced membership fee of 25 euros; and a fee of 50 euros to those in upper-middle income countries.

This 'two tier' structure uses the World Bank classification of low, lower-middle and upper-middle countries based on the Gross National Income (GNI) per capita and calculated using the World Bank Atlas method.  Download the PDF outlining which countries are eligible for the reduced fees

Reciprocal Membership discounted fee €75 or €130

ESMO has established agreements with a number of European national oncology societies which provides for a discounted membership fee.  If you are a member of one of these societies, please indicate this in your application or if you are already a member inform the membership services team in order to benefit from the discounted fee.

15% discount on purchase of multiple years – applicable to €175 fee

Medical doctors paying €175 who renew online for multiple years can benefit from a discount of 15% off their membership fee.
