Maheboob M. Basade is a professor of Medical Oncology at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. He is a full-time cancer specialist at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. Dr. Basade trained as a medical oncologist from Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai in 1995. He is doing a PhD degree in the Pharmacogenomics in cancer. He is executive body member of Indian Society of Medical and Paediatric Oncology.
Dr. Basade is currently head of the unit II at Jaslok Hospital, Mumbai. His main research interests are: early clinical development, phase I/II trials across solid tumours, pharmacogenomics. He is also involved in translational research aspects.
Dr. Basade had been principal investigator in many phase II/III clinical trials in various solid tumours including global trials. He is also an active member sub-committees on ICMR task force on Review of Cancer Management Guidelines in India.
Dr. Basade is member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) since 2001. He is receipt of first translational research fellowship awarded by ESMO Young Medical Oncologist in 2004. He has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed publications, including commentaries in The Lancet.
