Dr. Ashraf Awad is a medical oncologist working in the Department of Oncology in Al-Amal Hospital, the oncology Centre of Hamad Medical Corporation in Doha, Qatar. He was born in Sudan. In June 1996 he was graduated from the Donetsk State Medical University in Ukraine.
Dr. Ashraf had a four years training in general oncology and oncological surgery in the Department of Oncology of The Kyiv Medical Academy for Postgraduate Education.
He worked as a cancer specialist in the Unit of breast tumour in the Institute of Oncology in Kyiv from October 2001 up to May 2006. He was involved in scientific researches and clinical trails concerning the use of preoperative cryodestruction in combined treatment of cancer (under the supervision of Professor Taschiev R. K.). He contributed in development of anticancer autovaccine in bases of cryoassociated peptides derivate from the frozen breast tumour tissues.
In June 2006 Dr. Ashraf obtained the PhD degree in Oncology from the Kavetski Institute for Experimental pathology, oncology and radiobiology, the Ukraine Academy of science. His doctoral degree thesis was "The application of cryodestruction and cryoassociated peptides in combined treatment of patients with the breast cancer ".
His main research interests are: Breast cancer treatment, cryodestruction in cancer treatment, antitumour vaccines and cancer immunology.
Dr. Ashraf is member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) since 2005. He has contributed to over 16 publications, as well as 2 registered patents as first or last author.
