Vladimir Moiseyenko

Professor Vladimir Moiseyenko was born 1955 in Leningrad, USSR and studied medicine at the State Medical University, Leningrad. He specialized in surgery mainly in breast cancer, having achieved the position of senior researcher on the department of breast cancer in N.N. Petrov Research Institute of Oncology; in 1989 he switched to drug treatment. Until 1996 he was a senior researcher on the department of chemotherapy in the same institute. During this time he participated in multiple conferences and seminars on breast cancer, drug therapy and clinical trial design, finished several international courses.

In 1996 having realized that targeted approach to cancer therapy both with immunotherapy are of great interest and perspective he founded a new department of bone marrow transplantation and biotherapy. Since that time the department staff successfully participated in various multinational clinical trials, performed local translational research dealing with predictive and prognostic markers in malignant tumours.

Being the first in Russia to organize a laboratory of immunotherapy, Dr. V.Moiseyenko continues to work on various vaccines in melanoma, renal cell carcinoma and prostate cancer.

Dr. Moiseyenko is a member of several societies, including ESMO (1996) and ASCO (1997) and the head of the department of oncology in Medical Academy of Postgraduate Education in St. Petersburg. He published several monographs on cancer drug therapy.
