Dr. Ramon Colomer, MD, PhD, is the Head of the Clinical Research Network of the Catalan Institute of Oncology, based in Barcelona, Spain. He trained in Medical Oncology at the Hospital Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona, and in basic laboratory research at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. From 1991-2002 he was the Assistant Professor at the Hospital 12 de Octubre in Madrid, and then Chief of Medical Oncology at the Catalan Institute of Oncology in Girona from 2002-2006.
Currently Dr. Ramon Colomer is the Medical and Scientific Director at the Centro Oncologico MD Anderson España, Madrid. He holds a Master’s degree in Hospital Management and Administration.
Dr Colomer was President of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM) in the period 2007-2009. His clinical and laboratory research career translates in 180 peer-reviewed scientific papers, the bibliometric analysis shows a Science Citation Index of more than 690, and a Factor H of 29.
He has been Principal Investigator in 46 clinical trials and 12 laboratory research projects. One of his major areas of research has been the development of biomarkers of human breast cancer.
