ESMO Ambassador Programme
The ESMO Ambassador Programme was launched at the ESMO 2012 Congress in Vienna. Existing members were invited to tell their colleagues and fellow congress delegates what they valued the most as ESMO members and encourage them to join ESMO.
All members who brought their colleagues along to the Membership Services Centre or the ESMO booth, at different congress, to introduce them and receive details about membership were recognised as ESMO Ambassadors. More than 75 new members joined us this way on the spot in Vienna, and as a reward both the new member and the Ambassador received special gifts.
New members joining onsite had immediate access to the wide range of ESMO benefits including special benefits related to the congress, namely access to the Members’ Lounge and access to the congress webcasts – optimising their congress experience.
The ESMO Ambassadors, who were recognisable at the congress by a special ribbon attached to their congress badge, thus play a significant role in the growth and increased awareness about ESMO and the society’s role for medical oncologists both individually through membership and as a community.
