Fellowship available within the Molecular Clinical Oncology Training Programme at the European Institute of Oncology, Milan.
Research projects that are shared by clinicians and basic researchers often suffer from the cultural divide separating these two figures: clinicians must cure their patients today, while researchers strive to find better cures for tomorrow. Both aims are important but, in some respects, incompatible.
The Molecular Clinical Oncology Training Programme at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) is designed to fill the void that separates researchers and clinicians. We will train MDs to become equally well versed in the workings of basic cancer research and patient care. This is a unique opportunity that will permit MDs to focus on breast cancer care (under the supervision of Dr. V. Galimberti, Prof. A. Goldhirsch, Dr. G. Curigliano, or Prof. G. Viale), while dedicating at least 50% of their time to basic research under the mentorship of Prof. P.P. Di Fiore. Candidates must have completed their speciality training.
Successful applicants will win a 2 year fellowship worth €40.000 p.a.
28 June 2013
Please submit a letter of interest (in English), CV, and three letters of recommendation to Prof. P.P. Di Fiore
