The Medical Oncology Service at the Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM - www.chem.lu) is currently seeking collaboration of a medical specialist in haematology-oncology to complete our team of 5 general internal medicine specialists, primarily focusing on oncology-haematology.
The selected candidate will join our dynamic, multidisciplinary team of doctors and nurses implied in the field of medical oncology, one of the hospital's most active services, collaborating closely with the Surgical Oncology Service.
The Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch, regional hospital with 640 beds, covers all the main areas of surgery and general internal medicine with his 240 licensed and registered physicians.
The hospital is located in Esch-Alzette, close to the new University of Luxembourg, which facilitates collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the field of clinical research.
The CHEM hosts the Luxembourg's National Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center and the National Radiotherapy Center.
The hospital covers admission of the emergencies of all the southern area of the country.
In the field of oncological research, the CHEM collaborates closely with the University of Luxembourg as well as with several national research centres.
The Haematology-Oncology Service currently has 32 beds available, and in addition it contains a palliative care unit with 8 beds.
