Specialist in Haematology/Oncology
Publication date: 26 November 2013
The Centre Hospitalier Emile Mayrisch (CHEM) has 640 beds at its disposal and all the main areas of surgery and general internal medicine are represented by its 240 licensed and registered physicians.
The hospital is located in Esch-Alzette, in close proximity to the new University of Luxembourg, which enables a good collaboration between the two institutions, particularly in the field of clinical research.
As the regional hospital of the highly industrialised southern part of the country, Luxembourg's National Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy Center is located here at the CHEM.
The hospital also hosts the headquarters of the regional branch of the SAMU, the Emergency Medical Service. Furthermore, the National Radiotherapy Centre is located on the hospital's premises.
In the field of oncological research, the CHEM collaborates closely with the University of Luxembourg as well as with several national research centres. The Haematology-Oncology Service currently has 32 beds available, and in addition it contains a palliative care unit with 8 beds.
The Centre is looking for a new addition to their team of 5 general internal medicine specialists, primarily focusing on oncology-haematology.
The successful candidate will join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team of doctors and nurses who dedicate their invaluable efforts to the field of medical oncology, in one of the hospital's most active services, collaborating closely with the Surgical Oncology Service.
