Clinical Research Fellow in Breast Cancer Research: The Christie NHS Foundation Trust

Department of Medical Oncology: 24 month fixed term appointment
We have the above post available immediately for a period 24 months in the first instance. The Christie Cancer Centre is the largest single site hospital in Europe serving the Greater Manchester & North Cheshire Cancer Network.
The post will provide in-depth hands on experience in phase I-III breast cancer research. The fellow is also expected to develop research skills through their involvement with a number of early phase breast clinical trials, development of clinical outcomes database and grant applications. The post will involve close liaison with other members of the multidisciplinary Breast Medical Oncology team, working closely with and supporting the consultant, registrars and nurses as required. The Fellow will be based within the breast team and will be clinically responsible to Dr Andrew Wardley and thereafter to the Head of training and the Clinical Director of Medical Oncology.
The post holder will contribute to the increase in the treatment choices available to Christie patients through the implementation of new breast cancer treatments and through the clinical research that will be supported. Long term there will be benefits in terms of improved outcomes through improved survival rates and a reduction in the late effects of cancer therapies.
The salary will be on the Specialist Registrar Salary (MN35) pay scale within the range of £30,002 to £39,693 per annum. There is no-call commitment attached to this post.
