Social Media Manager

The European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO) is seeking to recruit a Social Media Manager based in the Society`s Head Office in Lugano.

ESMO is a learned society for the medical oncology profession. The Society aims to provide its members with a range of professional services to improve standards of practice in medical oncology by enhancing the knowledge and competence of its members. The Society also provides a voice for the profession at a political level.

The services provided by ESMO include: Education, Guidelines, Global Curriculum, Fellowships and Awards, and the ESMO Examination. The main role of the Marketing Department is to develop and refine the overall strategy of the society.

The Social Media Manager will be responsible for leading the design, creation and delivery of social media solutions that will enable ESMO to have greater impact through social media. This position will report to the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Suitable applicants should possess the following:

Educational skills:

  • Degree in Communications or Marketing; Digital & Social Media/digital marketing degree/courses highly desirable

Professional experiences:

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful online marketing and social media programmes
  • Proven experience developing and creating social media content calendars and community managing channels
  • Experience in healthcare is highly regarded

Technical skills:

  • Deep and thorough knowledge of social platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Twitter, Snapchat, YouTube, etc).
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, keyword research and Google Analytics

Language skills:

  • Fluency in English, written and verbal. Other language skills desirable
